Answer “yes” or “not yet” to each question. There is no pass or fail; the aim is to see what needs preparing first.

  1. Are your main processes written down?
  2. Do you know which task takes the most hours each week?
  3. Is there a number you already measure regularly (response time, orders processed…)?

Data

  1. Are your price lists, policies and guides kept in one place and kept up to date?
  2. Is customer data stored in software rather than scattered across messages?
  3. Have you classified which data is sensitive?

  1. Is there one person assigned to lead AI adoption?
  2. Have your employees used any AI tools at work?
  3. Does your team have time to learn and experiment over the next few weeks?

  1. Do you have a policy on using AI with company data?
  2. Is there a budget for a small pilot?
  3. Has leadership agreed on the result they want after three months?

Reading your results

  • Mostly “yes”: you can pick a problem and run a pilot right away. See 5 steps to choose your first problem.
  • Half “yes”, half “not yet”: fill the gaps in data and ownership first.
  • Mostly “not yet”: start by documenting your processes and giving the team basic training.
